This exhibition – the first that aims to present the art of Cluj between the wars – gives the public the chance to see the emblematic works of this generation, along with some of their teachers’ works, who introduced the discipline of modern art to Cluj. Many of the works are being exhibited for the first time in 80 years. Thus, among the 60 works are the painting Lunch by Tasso Marchini – presented in the exhibition in 1933, Iréne by Fülöp Antal Andor or Crucifixion by Eugen Gâscă – masterpieces of Romanian art.

Opening: 14th of June, Monday, 18.00 hours, Quadro Gallery

Opening: György Szücs, art historian, deputy director at the National Gallery of Hungary, Budapest.
The purpose of the exhibition was to present Kusztos Endre’s art. Over 140 coal, pastel and ink graphics illustrate Kusztos’s authenticity, his unique visual universe, defined by its dramatic content and the expressive force of his graphical instruments.

June 22 – July 31, 2009
The exhibition, accompanied by a catalogue with the graphic works of Vetro Artur, presented a less known part of the art of the famous sculptor and professor. More than 50 graphic works illustrate the fact that the artist was a thorough sketcher, as well. The works represent portraits and nudes, a sign of the artist’s attachment to human values, which he expressed in a figurative, classic language.

January 29 – February 22, 2009
The retrospective exhibition of the sketcher András Heim took place in the Art Museum Cluj. There were presented ample series of easel graphics made in recent years by the artist.

20 November - 20 December, 2008
István Betuker is a young artist, born in Satu Mare, in 1884. He studied in Cluj, with training in France, and was noted early in Cluj in figurative painting of the city, by the morbid atmosphere of its characters and by its refined colorism.
